How many seconds between breaths cpr?

In CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), there is no fixed time interval for giving breaths. The recommended guideline for CPR has evolved over time and can depend on the specific protocol or guidelines in use. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, the guidelines from organizations like the American Heart Association (AHA) suggested a compression-to-ventilation ratio of 30:2. This means 30 chest compressions followed by 2 breaths.

The time for giving those two breaths after the 30 compressions can vary, but it’s generally advised to provide each breath over about 1 second. In the context of this ratio, the focus is more on the number of compressions and getting oxygenated blood flowing to the brain and other vital organs rather than specific timing between breaths.

However, CPR guidelines might have evolved since then, so it’s crucial to refer to the latest guidelines from reputable sources like the AHA or local medical authorities for the most up-to-date information.
